We are making a difference in Lorain
County!
Dear Fellow Democrats:
A new day of hope has come
for Ohio! Last week Governor Ted Strickland gave his first
State of the State Address in Columbus. Governor Strickland is
delivering on his plan to Turnaround Ohio.
Governor Strickland said,
“We
may have come here today from flatlands or foothills, from the
banks of great rivers or the shore of a Great Lake, from a quiet
village or a bustling city. But even in its glorious
differences, Ohio is one state, and we are one people.
We
love Ohio for all that it’s been. For all that it is. And for
all that it can be if we work together for the common good”.
As we
look forward to our upcoming Democratic Primary on May 8th
we need to march forward with the same resilience that turned
Ohio blue. We must now work together for our democratic cause
at the local level and elect hardworking democratic candidates
who will bring a new day of hope to our Lorain County
communities.
Let us
not forget this is America and we welcome all who would like to
hold office and make a difference in our communities. When the
Primary Election is over we must work hard to put our
differences aside and make a commitment to work together for a
common democratic cause.
There
are many important races on the ballot this year. The election
of Mayors in Lorain, Elyria, and North Ridgeville can change the
canvass of our democracy in Lorain County and we must work hard
to elect council candidates that will assist these Mayors to
move the democratic agenda of jobs, development, affordable
education, and a corrupt free government that is transparent and
responsible to the people.
As
2007 begins we have made great strides here in Lorain County and
we must keep our momentum going to be resilient in the 2007 and
2008 election cycles.
Thanks
to the hundreds of volunteers in Lorain County, we are making a
difference!
Democratically yours,
Thomas
J. Smith, Chairman
Lorain
County Democratic Party
